Favorite Track: "Dogs"
My favorite album of all time, most people wouldn't even rank this as one of Pink Floyd's top three. As much as I love Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall, this one somehow just does it for me. Roger Waters seems to take over more and more of Pink Floyd's singing roles, and you can tell from both the vocals and the lyrics that this was the predecessor to The Wall. I think David Gilmour's voice is much more agreeable, but for this album, I'm glad Waters sang most of it. I would say though, that the music, and especially Gilmour's great guitar work is at least as important, if not more, than the lyrics. He has such a distinctive sound, and he is given plenty of room to maneuver in an album with three 15+ minute songs. I've listened to this a million times, but my most memorable time was driving home from Washington with my friend Matt. It was in the very early morning and we were listening and singing along just to stay awake. The time flew by.
