  • eBay: A great auction site that is VERY addicting
  • Yahoo! Auctions: Another auction site which isn't as popular as eBay (so the bidding is generally lower)
  • Chank.com: An artsy site where you can get some unique free fonts
  • DevShed: If you want to learn web-related technologies, this is a great place to go. Excellent tutorials and an invaluable forum community
  • DSLreports.com: Go here to find out about DSL service in your area. Also has a great bandwidth test to find out both your upload and download speeds
  • GrafX Design: I learned a lot from the Photoshop tutorials here.
  • Index Dot HTML: My favorite HTML reference site. Has syntax, browser compatibility, examples, etc. Also has cascading style sheet reference
  • Linuxnewbie.org: An excellent site for the Linux beginner or expert. By far the most valuable resource here is its active discussion community
  • The Table Sampler: HTML tables can be tricky...this site helped me understand the fundamentals.
  • VisiBone: Visibone has an excellent color chart so you can pick the color and get the HTML code for it. Makes it easy to pick web-safe colors
  • DVD Price Compare: A site which compares prices among several DVD retailers
  • DVD Price Search: Pretty much the same as DVD Price Compare
  • Price Watch: A really great site that lets you find the lowest price for a particular computer part or accessory...ideal if you're building your own computer
  • Sandbox: My friends and I have been using this site for all our fantasy sports games. Many of their games are free and have really great features such as the rumor mill.
  • All Music Guide: All Music Guide gives background and reviews for just about every artist/band and their recordings.
  • The Ultimate Band List: A pretty thorough collection of web sites for any artist/band you can think of
  • ESPN.com: ESPN's internet presence
  • The Sabre: A great site for UVa. athletics. Great discussion forums.
